Ayurveda is helpful because it affirms that not all bodies are the same. Each person, situation, and body is unique. Have you ever wondered why some people are not energetic while others are hyperactive? Why some people cannot gain weight despite eating a healthy diet regularly. Ayurveda answers all these questions by proposing the theory that each individual has three doshas or body types.
In Ayurveda, Kapha is an element that governs the structure of the body. It’s a combination of water and earth, and it is associated with structure, stability, and lubrication. The main locations of Kapha in the body are the chest, throat, lungs, head, fatty tissues connective tissues, ligament, and tendons. It helps in lubricating the joints which keeps you mobile. Other than that, it also stores energy and gives bulk to the tissue.
Those who have Kapha dosha are usually easygoing, relaxed, and slow-paced. They are compassionate, non-judgmental, and have an elegant appearance. It is difficult to upset them and they are known to be possessive in nature. They do not like change and hold onto things. Money troubles will not bother them in life as they are good at handling money.
Kapha Body Type
Those with Kapha body type usually have well-structured bodies but they are prone to obesity. Their chests are expanded and their veins are not visible because of good muscular development. They have a fair complexion but they face a problem with oily skin. Their hair are wavy, thick, dark, and black.
A regular appetite suits them because of a slow digestion process, but they also consume a comparatively smaller diet. They have good stamina and generally remain happy, healthy, and peaceful.
The Kapha Mind
People of Kapha mind are calm in nature and it is not easy to anger them. They like leading a peaceful life and maintaining harmony in their surrounding. However, they possess traits like possessiveness, greed, attachment, and envy. They take their time to analyze a situation, but once they grasp a concept it stays with them for a long time. A person with the Kapha mind has a long-lasting memory.
The Vata Dosha is derived from the elements of space and air. It is known as the energy of movement that governs all life. People born with vata dosha are active and they love to create something new every day. They live their life with enthusiasm and joy which is why they find new opportunities easily.
However, when their vata goes out of balance, they start acting out of impulse and they get anxious over any slightly stressful situation. When your vata goes out of balance there will be signs like dryness, dry cough, constipation, and abdominal pain.
Vata Body Type
People of the Vata body are physically weaker. Their chests are flat, and their veins are usually visible. They are either too short or too tall and they have dry skin. The main problem they face is poor muscular development, and that is why their joints are usually visible. Most of the time, they have sunken eyes, hands, and feet that remain cold. They get less sleep compared to the other two body types.
Vata Mind
The Vata mind grasps things easily but they struggle with poor memory.
They face problems with willpower, confidence, and tolerance. People of Vata type can get anxious easily.

Pitta is located in the small intestines, stomach, liver, spleen, pancreas, blood, and eyes. It provides energy to the body by breaking down complex food molecules. People with Pitta dosha are usually energetic, courageous, bold, and short-tempered.
